My Rescue Girl is here! "Suzie Creemcheese" arrived last Wednesday, and is adjusting well to our crazy little household. Roisin and Finney are adapting to having a sibling, and for the most part everyone gets along O.K. There is an occasional squabble, but that's common for Corgis, and I've only had to spray them with the water bottle a couple of times to break it up. Mostly, they eat, sleep, play, and are generally great companions. Suzie's sight-impairment doesn't seem to slow her down one bit. It's pretty cool, how very easily she manages everything.

I finished Phoebe's hat on Tuesday night. It's a Manmade By Jonne pattern, and in Jonne's shop, the prototype is done in a lovely and sedate combination of blues. Not for Phoebe! She really and truly wanted this black and blaze orange combo and loves the hat. She just refuses to smile for pictures and prefers to make goofy faces.

I found the black yarn over the weekend while I was away at the NETA Spa. What a fun trip that was! I enhanced the personal stash more than I had any business doing, and had a terrific time hanging out with Knitting Friends and meeting new folks.

On Wednesday, we celebrated my 43rd birthday in Philadelphia at the Salvador Dali exhibit. It was an intense show, and an intense trip in general. We drove down and returned home in the same day! Basically, we had time to go through the exhibit, then found a terrific Mexican restaurant in a strip mall somewhere in Philly, then headed home after eating our late lunch/early supper. The restaurant turned out to be authentic and resonably priced. And if Rachel on "Friends" was once disappointed at the prospect of a "birthday flan," I was NOT. It was fabulous flan, and I revelled in every high-carb bite!

I'm in the home stretch on my heathered red cable sweater -- only three inches to go before I can start the saddles. Those should go fast, as they are just long strips. Then I can sew the darn thing together and ponder favorite neck treatments. With luck, I might actually be WEARING it in a week or two...
